This page describes what actually happens on this site, not what a template says usually happens. If anything here does not match the site's real behaviour, that is a bug — please tell us.

What we collect about you: nothing

There are no accounts, no logins, no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no tracking of any kind. We do not know who you are, we do not know you visited, and we could not tell you how many people used a calculator today.

What happens to the numbers you type in

Every calculator runs entirely inside your browser. Your weight, height, age, sex, body-fat percentage and measurements are used to compute a result on your own device and are discarded when you close or reload the page.

Specifically, this information:

• is never transmitted to us or to anyone else,
• is never written into the page's web address, so it cannot leak through a shared link, browser history, or a referrer header,
• is never saved to your device between visits,
• is never combined, sold, or shared.

This is a deliberate design decision. Health measurements are sensitive, and the most reliable way to protect sensitive data is not to receive it.

Our host, and what it can see

This site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details necessary to deliver a page to you — your IP address, the time, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string. That processing happens at Cloudflare's edge, not by us, and we do not use it for analytics, profiling, or anything connected to what you enter in a calculator.

Cloudflare's security features may set a strictly necessary cookie on your device — typically __cf_bm, used for bot detection. It is a short-lived session cookie, it is not set by us, it holds no identifier belonging to this site, and Cloudflare states it is not used to track people between sites. If a security challenge is shown, a cf_clearancecookie may also be set to remember that you passed it.

We set no cookies of our own, and there is nothing on this site that requires your consent to store or read information for our purposes.

Third parties

Fonts are served from this site's own domain rather than a third-party font service, so loading a page does not announce your visit to anyone else. No analytics provider, tag manager, or advertising network is loaded.

Some pages link out to other websites — research papers, retailers, reference material. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, and their practices apply rather than ours.

Affiliate links

Some outbound product links are affiliate links, marked where they appear. If you buy through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer will know you arrived from here; they will not learn anything you entered into a calculator, because we never had it. See ouradvertising disclosure.

Children

These calculators are built for adults aged 18 and over, and the site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone — of any age — because we do not collect information at all.

If you are in California

We operate from California. The California Consumer Privacy Act gives residents the right to know what personal information a business collects, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing.

Our answer to all of these is the same, and it is unusually short: we collect no personal information, so there is none to disclose, delete, or correct. We have never sold or shared personal information, and we have no mechanism capable of doing so — there is no database, no analytics provider, and no advertising network on this site. That includes the specific meaning "sharing" carries under California law, which covers passing information to advertisers for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Because we collect nothing, a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser has nothing to act on here. There is no opt-out to exercise, and no preference for us to record.

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area

This site is operated from the United States and is not directed at the UK or the EEA, but it is reachable from both. The UK GDPR and EU GDPR give people rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over personal data held about them.

We hold no personal data, so those rights have nothing to attach to. The only personal data processed in connection with your visit is what our host handles to deliver the page — your IP address and request metadata, described above — and that is processed by Cloudflare under its own policies, not ours.

Your rights

Privacy laws in the United States and elsewhere give people rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about them. We hold none, so there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you would like that confirmed in writing, email hello@thestatmethod.comand we will confirm it.

Changes

If this site ever adds analytics, advertising, or any feature that stores your information, this page will be updated before that feature ships and the change noted here rather than made quietly.
